About Us
Our Mission
We believe that Asian-American teens have a powerful voice that needs to be heard. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive platform for Asian-American teens to explore the complexities of global and domestic issues, challenge the Model Minority myth, and empower them to speak up, be heard, and develop meaningful connections with mentors.
Our Vision
We envision a world where Asian-American teens are empowered to vocalize their perspectives on matters of politics, society, and climate change. Through thought-provoking content and engaging with unfamiliar topics, we seek to empower Asian-Americans to have a passionate and confident voice towards political, societal, and environmental issues.
The Problem We See
Many first-generation Asian-Americans continue to face language, cultural, and educational barriers that disjoint them from each other. This has put them at a disadvantage in the fight against hate and injustice. It is therefore incumbent upon their second and later-generation counterparts to stand in solidarity with them. This requires cultivating a passionate and confident voice that is well-versed in the problems of today. Through collective action, we can bridge the gap between first and second+ generation immigrants while harnessing the power of Asian voices.
With the emergent popularity of short-form media, young people’s attention spans are continually decreasing and their ability to contextualize political events and ideas is also hindered. The goal of this blog is to ask the difficult questions that arise from contemporary politics.
Our Team
Our team is composed of passionate and dedicated Asian-American teens from the Bay Area with a shared vision of promoting positive and opinionated dialogue.
